October Regional Menu: Tuscany

Teaming with quintessential Italian iconography, Tuscany is home to Italy’s most widely recognized landscapes, artworks, tourist spots and cuisine. From the Renaissance-era art and architecture, to popular destinations like Florence, the famous leaning tower, and the vineyards and farmhouses, it’s no secret why Tuscany has a special place in the hearts of Italians and Italian admirers alike.

From traditional Tuscan dishes like pici spaghetti from Siena, to world wide favourites like Chianti fine wines, Tuscany takes it’s culinary inspiration from it’s snow capped mountainous regions, the sunny beaches of Elba overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, and from the world famous olive groves and wine regions.

Tuscany is a region heavily influenced by the fertile grounds it inhabits and has made a name for itself as a lover of seasonal, sustainable and locally sourced produce, boasting the perfect equilibrium between quality produce and culinary tradition.  Made famous by simple foods, Tuscany is home to Italian staples and rustic cooking using breads, spelt, legumes and vegetables.

With a Tuscan muse, Bar Alto has created a Regional Menu that weighs on simple Italian treasures like spaghetti and ravioli, featuring earthy, traditional dishes utilizing simple yet flavoursome meats like chicken and fresh fish.

Drawing upon inspiration from each Tuscan province to create a diverse regional lunch that showcases the best of such a stunning and iconic Italian region, we have assembled a menu perfect to indulge in over a long lunch. Enjoy two or three courses, paired with a glass of Corte Giara Pinot Grigio.

Join us for lunch from 11am Tuesday to Saturday throughout October and take a temporary Tuscan vacation.
