Simplicity is the key

After months of travelling the coastline of Italy, we finally make our way down to Liguria, famous for its simple flavours and fresh produce.

This city boasts majestic rolling hills, mountaintops and an impressive coastline which all attribute to the abundance of seafood and perfect growing conditions for olives, basil, garlic, chickpeas and more.

A journey exploring Ligurian cuisine must begin with the area’s renowned flag bearer, pesto. This is much more than a simple sauce in Liguria: it is a veritable institution and is the hero of our fazzoletti di seta con pesto – silk handkerchief pasta with classic genovese pesto.

Whether you choose to indulge in our panfried market fish with Ligurian olives, lemon and capers, or the free range chicken in brodo with seasonal mushrooms and oregano, our latest regional menu will have you snug at our table for hours on end.

Continue the lunch affair with the simple but sweet, pesche ripiene – oven roasted peaches stuffed with ameretti, saffron and milk gelato.

Make your way to Bar Alto and savour the flavours of Italy, without stepping one foot on a plane, and with a glass of 2013 Pala ‘I fiori’ Vermentino in hand.

Join us on our latest adventure for lunch Tuesday to Saturday from 11am.
